  Just thought I'd post a link to Scented Vinyl.  This is a sweet thing that's been happening for a while every Monday, but is now picking up some steam.

  Our web world is back up and running.  We did a major move to a new server and things weren't the smoothest.  Along with all this, we are going to be installing Pro Tools 8 on Saturday, which also means installing Leopard first...I can't imagine anything going wrong. :)

   The Plate Reverb is done and in use.  This thing is pretty fun.

   We acquired an old Lowery Organ.  It has some crazy sounds in it.  When hooked up to Jon's Little Leslie, it is a rock organ like the world has never seen.

   Ken Mayfield was in recording.  He had most of the tracks laid in Logic, then we just imported them into Pro Tools and started tracking new stuff to replace some old stuff and blah blah blah, it's a fun little project.  Dick Prall is basically done with a couple songs he has been working on.  We tried some different things around the studio for that one.

   Plate Reverb construction has begun.  Here's how far we got today.  Frame, plate mounted, speaker mounted, tested...party.  It needs a little work but ooohh boy this thing is neat.  Real, true plate reverb.  I'll try to keep this up to date with the progress.

   The Nadas new song is underway.  March's song with be a little more simple than Feb's song production wise.  Kimberly Foltz was in to finish up the song she is working on.  We are pretty much done with that one.  She won the chance to record a song with The Nadas at a silent auction.  Bonne Finken has been rehearsing with Jon and others for a 30 minute SXSW performance.  It sounds like Bonne and Fat Andy are going to be coming in to start new songs for a new project.

   We finished recording drums and bass for Max Jury.  We have also been making progress with Mary McAdams' new record.  Also Dan Grause was back in doing some more.

   The Raven Wolf Band was in a few days ago doing a demo of 5 songs.  Skyler did this one and they got it all pretty much done it one day.  We pulled off our most ambitious string arrangement yet.  Patrick Riley came in and arranged awesome parts for a new Nadas song.  We have also made quite the club mix of it too.  There is a 2nd project related to The Nadas starting soon too.  Stay tuned for details.

   The Nadas are coming in for the Feb song.  There are some fun, exciting new projects that are going to be starting with in the next few months.  We have also added a calendar so that you can see what's available.

   Max Jury is in working on a couple songs.  This kid has some fun songs.  Jon and Tony are doing bass and drums with him also.  The piano in the studio is going to get worked on.  It's been needing some TLC for a little while now.  Plus the grand piano in Studio C (Jon's House) is getting tuned too...so if you need any piano, pretty soon is going to be the time to do it.
   Also, the Music Player has been updated to show some of the stuff that's been done here recently.

   The Nadas will be in to start song number 2 for their Almanac Project.  This a fun new approach to making and releasing music.

   Mary McAdams will be starting a record in a few days.  Jon went to Greenwood Elementary with her to record 3 3rd grade classes that she has been working with.  It was a field trip for him.
  The screamo band At The Center of Serenity has been in with Wee Little Skyler finishing up a tune.
   The Josh Davis Band and Fat Andy have been in rehearsing new members.

   The Nadas have started a new project called "Almanac".  The first track will be available soon. 
   Josh Davis' new project is being called "Put My Kid In" in our little world.  It has been buuuusssy around the studio. 
   Chelsea Burns came in and did a demo. 
   Jared Hall is in doing a song.  He'll get to be the first one to use the new grand piano.
   Dan Grause has also been in doing songs.

  Jared Hall came in and played piano for an upcoming IPTV documentary.  He played a handful of hymns and some other pieces he made up on the spot.

   Chris Renallo has started recording.  He's doing some tracks from home and some , like drums and bass, at the studio.  Jon and Tony are playing bass and drums for it.

   Bonne Finken's Record is almost done.  Over the next couple weeks, Fat Andy and The Josh Davis Band's new records will be coming out.  Both are on Authentic Records.

   Josh Davis is in doing more tracks.  Oh boy it has been a rock party around here.  You can watch daily activities around the studio on the New and Improved TV Page.

   We have begun mixing Nada Silent Night VI.  We'll see what happens with it.  There were six cameras rolling also.  We've been doing various demos including Max Jury who is coming in Sunday to start laying stuff down.

  Jon just got a grand piano at his house worth being recorded.  The new room will be called Studio C...or Jon's house.  We're pretty excited to put it on someone's record.

    Blue Island Tribe just finished a 5 song EP.  We worked on it real hard for one week then mixed it over the last couple weeks.  Bonne Finken is just about done.  Look for new examples of both soon.  Look for info on other ne w projects starting soon.  You can always watch the stream to see who's in the studio.

We want to welcome Skyler VanWalbeek to The Sonic Factory.  He's fresh out of The Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis.

    We now have a real piano.  It needs a little time and love to get it up and running, but it's going to be great when it's ready.

    We're finally getting steady at the new studio.  Thanks to the new people we've met who just stopped in.  We've been doing some fun projects.  Demos for Critical Hour, Tonda, and a couple other bands.  Dr. Joel Baker's record is just about done.  It was started at the old home studio and is being finished at the new one.  We are making progress on The Nadas' new record.  Fun fun sounds.
